Formerly known as Trepanier Hall, the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center is an auditorium in the American Indian Community Housing Organization’s Gimaajii-Mino-Bimaadizimin building.

AICHO purchased the former Duluth YWCA building in June 2008 to develop Gimaaji, converting the structure into 29 units of permanent supportive housing for families and creating Duluth’s first urban Indian center.

The American Indian Community Housing Organization and Duluth-Superior Film Festival features local and internationally Indigenous produced films for five upcoming film series events. The flyer includes all film features, dates and times. During this event, the feature film is N. Scott Momaday: Words From a Bear, directed by Jeffrey Palmer. Popcorn is served during the showing.

Native Wise CSA Boxes Curbside Pickup

Indigenous First Arts and Gift Shop partners with Native Wise, an organic-based farm on the Fond Du Lac Reservation, to offer community-supported agriculture boxes for curbside pickup every Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. by the Powless Cultural Center doors at the American Indian Community Housing Organization. Select from the ordering options at indigenousfirst.org and choose curbside pickup when checking out. The CSA boxes offer vegetables, wild rice and fish harvested by one family.
