Women Hike Duluth: Lakewalk from Water Street to Leif Erikson Park

Women Hike Duluth, in partnership with Hike Duluth, offers this free guided hike along the shores of Lake Superior on the Lakewalk. The group will meet in the parking lot near Beacon Pointe Resort on Water Street, off of 21st Avenue East, and walk to Leif Erickson Park and back. BWCAW Powwwow Trail Clean Up

This trip is intended for Duluth area residents but anyone can participate. Purpose of this trip is to clear several miles of the path from the trail head going north toward Pose Lake. Last fall there were roughly 400 treefalls in a three mile long segment of the trail. Clearing these dead falls out of the way will make it easier for the four day backpacking crews to reach their trail maintenance are later in May – less fatigued from…
