The 31st annual Twin Ports Thanksgiving Buffet, produced by Twin Ports community volunteers and the College of St. Scholastica, offers a free turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
The buffet is usually offered at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it is offered this year as home-delivered meals and family meal kits served through the efforts of the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. Participants should sign up for either a meal kit or a home-bound meal delivery, but not both.
The meals are available in Duluth, Superior, Proctor, Hermantown, Esko, Cloquet and Two Harbors. Only 1-2 meals can be delivered per household due to the demand. One meal for those that are home-bound and one, if needed, for a caregiver.
Homebound residents who would like to request a home delivery meal can call 218-723-6484 or fill out the online form. Requests must be received by Nov. 19.
A limited number of family meal kits will be delivered to homes the week before Thanksgiving. Kits include a frozen turkey; potatoes, stuffing, gravy, corn, rolls and dessert. An individual must be home to receive a meal kit, it cannot be dropped off due to food-safety regulations. All meal kit deliveries will be made between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. To order a meal kit call 218-723-6484 or fill out the online form. Requests must be received by Nov. 13 at noon.
